Introducing our brand new SlimFlexTwin Topdecks for the XRAY X4!
With Xray following the crowd and introducing a car capable of sporting twin topdecks, we have once again risen to the challenge to improve on standard parts, just as racers feel we have with our super successful, similarly designed SlimFlex Twin Topdecks for the MTC2 and A800MMX.
With this new twin topdeck system, the flex of the topdecks front and rear is entirely symmetrical if they feature the same design. In order to achieve the optimum flex point, we need to use different flex screw settings front and rear to achieve the correct flex point for our track conditions.
We have optimised the profile of our SlimFlex topdecks such that the flex point is shifted forward, whilst still being adjustable so that you can optimise the flex for your track. This is particularly important on high traction tracks, where drivers want to reduce the flex on the front of the chassis to make the car easier to drive carrying more corner speed. This is in stark contrast to a low traction asphalt setting which would require a significantly more forward biased flex point. Our topdecks allow the ability to adjust this both by motor-mount pivot screws, and central flex tabs. The flex tabs can be cut one by one, to achieve the desired amount of flex, both front and rear.
The rear features our signature flex dampener brace, which allows a medium amount of flex across the rear bulkheads, and has proven to be very successful on a very large number of tracks and conditions across many different brands of chassis!
As well as this,we have narrowed the topdeck in the centre, to allow for the use of bigger pinion gears.This provides additional clearance over the standard Xray Topdecks, and allows all gear ratios to be used.
Our SlimFlex Topdeck range has been tested on asphalt, ETS Carpet and CRC Black Carpet with great success on all surfaces. Our drivers reported the topdeck making the easier to drive and more consistent, with increased corner speed, and in the end, faster lap-times compared to standard parts.
